History

Inverness Raceway is a 1/2 mile track located in Inverness Cape Breton. Inverness Raceway began live racing in 1926. In 1960 the land was leased to the race track by the diocese of Antigonish for 100 years for the sum of $1.

Inverness Raceway is a non profit organization where everything goes back to the horsemen. There is only three full time and 35 part time staff that manages to race 35 live races and have 202 simulcast races.

There are eight members on the board of executives at the raceway all of which are volunteers they are;
